Established in 1871, "The Gardens" is a matured landscaped cemetery surrounded by protected woodlands.
Serving all faiths and beliefs, we have designated gardens that allow our diverse families to practice the rich customs of their diverse faiths and traditions.
Each garden has a special feel to it. Creating separate gardens within the cemetery creates an intimate feeling for our families.
Selecting which garden is right for your family is an emotional decision but not a complicated one.

The Gardens is located at 670 Baker Street in West Roxbury just off the West Roxbury Parkway near the Newton line.

Mt. of Olives
Located at a high elevation and facing east, this garden is highlighted by scenic views of surrounding treetops and rolling hills and state protected woodlands.
Garden of Honor
The Garden of Honor, located at the entrance of the cemetery, adjacent to the cannon memorial from the USS Constitution, is currently available for veterans and their spouses. This garden is dedicated to those who served in the United States armed services, in recognition of their unselfish commitment to duty. The Gardens also conducts a special Memorial Day and Veterans Day service for all veterans that have their final resting place with us.
Orthodox Garden and Holy Resurrection Chapel
The Gardens has established Orthodox Garden & Chapel that offers the Orthodox community a place to gather during burial services and other calendar events, where families can observe and practice customs and traditions and pass them on to the next generation.
This Garden allows larger memorials, Planting flowers and placing eternal lights.
This garden has a row of Japanese maples and an outcropping of Roxbury puddingstone as its most prominent landscape features.
Hong Ling Garden
Hong Ling is designated for our Asian community. Set on a quiet hill and facing east, this garden's concept is one of traditional heritage and allows families to memorialize according to their ancient customs.
Conveniently located on a gentle slope and facing east, this garden is punctuated by a landscape consisting of thundercloud plum trees, rhododendrons, lush azaleas, and overlooks 50 acres of fields and a sea of purple flowers.
With a central monument feature anchored by two white birch trees and an aspen, this garden presents a wonderful sense of tranquility as it is abutted by natural forest and protected woodlands.
Garden of Mercy (Almarhama)
Designated for the Islamic community, this garden is located on the east side of our property and is surrounded by lush green arborvitae shrubs. Families are allowed and encouraged to memorialize according to their faith.
Apostles Beech Grove
Nestled within our original Garden of the Apostles and adjacent to our bird feeding and viewing area, this newly designed garden is abutted by state protected woodland, is situated on all level ground, and faces south.
